Springboard Steps up Efforts to Assist Homeowners Facing Foreclosure: California Agency Increases Counseling, Customer Service Staff to Help Distresse
Riverside, CA (PRWEB) February 4, 2008 -- With the tide of foreclosure rising across the nation, Springboard Nonprofit Consumer Credit Management is continuing to increase its ability to assist troubled homeowners, while also serving as a resource to state and federal government agencies that are taking action on the foreclosure issue.
Springboard, a HUD-approved housing counseling agency, assists distressed homeowners nationwide through personal financial counseling and helps consumers work with their lenders to find options and possible solutions to mortgage problems. The California-based agency is one of the nation's leading nonprofit counseling agencies helping people seek solutions to foreclosure. It provides counseling to homeowners nationwide, seven days a week, through a 24-hour hotline, 1-888-995-HOPE.
Springboard has recently hired 45 additional foreclosure prevention counselors, customer care representatives, and managerial staff in response to the needs of Americans nationwide seeking to save their homes and avoid foreclosure. In addition the agency recently added 12,000 square feet of office space for their bilingual counseling center to meet the continued demand for foreclosure prevention and financial counseling nationwide.
The agency is seeking to hire additional foreclosure prevention counselors in the coming months. All counseling positions require at least two years of experience in financial services or housing counseling. This experience in the lending, credit, or mortgage industries gives counselors a unique understanding of the issues consumers experience when faced with possible foreclosure. People who speak both English and Spanish are preferred, though it is not required. To apply for a position in Riverside, California, visit the agency's web site, www.credit.org, click on "About Us", select "Contact Us" and forward your resume to Springboard via the "employment opportunities" e-mail link.
Springboard president and chief executive officer, Todd Emerson, has met with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on the Governor's visit to Riverside, CA as the Governor addressed the foreclosure situation and promoted awareness of the HOPE hotline. Emerson has been a panelist at town hall meetings addressing the foreclosure issue in Southern California. Springboard is one of the three original nonprofit agency partners of the Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF). The number of HPF counseling partner agencies have increased with demand, and provide foreclosure prevention counseling to homeowners nationwide 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through a 24-hour hotline, 1-888-995-HOPE.
In Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and San Diego counties Springboard has collaborated with other housing counseling agencies, industry professionals, local governments and elected officials to conduct seminars, workshops, and clinics to let troubled homeowners know they don't have to face problems alone. "Foreclosure affects everyone - homeowners, businesses, local governments and communities," Emerson says. "We are proud of the efforts that lenders and legislators are making to address the problem and continue to offer hope to those who are facing foreclosure. Having consumers hear about the free counseling available on the HOPE hotline and attend foreclosure prevention events and clinics lets them know where they can turn when there's a problem, and what resources are available to them."
Counseling volume has increased dramatically since President Bush and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made announcements about the HOPE hotline. Springboard has counseled thousands of Americans nationwide seeking to save their homes and avoid foreclosure.
